When did Little Me launch?
Little Me Organics started in 2004 with the range first appearing in Boots stores in 2004. It started because of an unmet need for an organic range of baby toiletries and a requirement for putting something on baby’s skin that was good for them and going to enhance their mood. The brand has gone from strength to strength ever since.
How natural and organic are the products?
Little Me Organics products are a happy blend of naturally-derived ingredients and certified organic extracts. Our products are free from parabens, SLS (sodium lauryl/laureth sulphate), chemical irritants, synthetic colourants and chemical alcohol. The level of organic ingredients vary from product to product, depending on product type, but are at sufficient levels to provide a benefit.
Why aren’t all the ingredients organic?
In order to keep the price range attainable to the majority, we have selected the main ingredients to be organic. All the suppliers of organic ingredients provide certification to guarantee sources are organic.
Are all the ingredients used safe?
Yes all products are reviewed by a safety assessor to ensure that they are considered safe for their intended use. They are also all sent for patch testing to make sure there are no irritations.
Are essential oils safe to use on baby’s skin?
Essential oils are gentler, have a better fragrance & have therapeutic benefits that are not present in synthetic fragrances. Years ago, before synthetic fragrances, essential oils were widely used by our grandmothers and great grandmothers. We have only selected oils that are known to be safe for babies and those selected are non toxic, non irritant and non sensitising.
Why have you used vegetable oils rather than mineral oils?
Ingredients derived from natural or vegetable sources contain some natural vitamins and anti-oxidants. Mineral oils are derived from the petrochemical industry.
Organic vegetable oils such as Sunflower oil and Jojoba oils have been used as these act as carriers for the essential oils, allowing them to get into the skin and improving the effect of other ingredients.
How are the gentle formulations proved?
All the products have been through rigorous irritation testing where we proved less irritant than a leading baby brand.
What age can you use the products from?
Little Me Organics is suitable for use on any age baby, from newborn up - the range was brought out for babies’ delicate skin.
Are the Mum to Be products safe for all stages of pregnancy?
The balancing aromatherapy blend come from a pallet of oils that are primarily safe for use at this important time in a woman’s life. They are safe, gentle, soothing, balancing and beautifully feminine.
Are your products suitable for sensitive skins?
It is not possible to guarantee that a product will never cause a skin reaction. However, Little Me products have been formulated with an exceptionally high proportion of natural and organic ingredients that have been especially chosen to care for babies’ and mum to be’s skin. Products have been patch tested and results reviewed by a dermatologist.
Is your packaging environmentally and baby friendly?
The bottles are made of plastics that can be recycled. The design is such that the bottles are safe for babies to play with, provided caps are screwed on tight.
Do you test on animals?
Little Me Organics is against animal testing. Our products are not tested on animals and no animal derived ingredients are used in any stage of their manufacture.
